The Stepping Stone Café is located in the district of Getsemani. This Café is particularly popular among tourists and is ideal for a delicious breakfast or lunch. Besides the nice menu with many healthy options it is a very cosy restaurant. By going here you also support a nice initiative. Stepping Stone leads through a collaborative project to poor kids from ‘ risk ‘ areas and let them work in the restaurant as a cook or waiter.
Pandebono
One of the Colombian specialities is the Pandebono. It is a small cheese bun where you can eat a few of them for lunch. These rolls are also a good idea for take away on the road. They are really delicious! The most delicious you’ll get at the shop of ‘ La Esquina de Pandebono ‘.
Don Juán
Don Juán in Centro Histórico is a must for dinner. The menu is diverse and the food is very good with the fish dishes as a specialty. Atmospheric, beautiful restaurant with outdoor live background music. The restaurant is a bit expensive, but it is definitely worth the price. Thanks to its popularity it is wise to reserve a table.
Arepa Getsemani
In Colombia you have to try the arepa. When you just want to go for some streetfood Try a arepa in the district Getsemani! We noticed this shop near Plaza Trinidad because of the hustle. Your arepa is prepared here in a few minutes. There are many different options to fill this grilled Colombian ‘ pita bread ‘ with corn dough. Within a few minutes the Arepa is ready and it costs you only about 7,000 COP (€2,-) Yummy for the tummy!
Basilica
Basilica is an Italian restaurant located on a nice quiet square. You can leave the tourist crowds and go for deliciously affordable Italian food. The pastas and pizzas are excellent. Before you seat, make sure that the terrace is shared with the adjacent restaurant ‘ Boche ‘ which is not so good.

Il Forno is an affordable Italian chain located in Parque Lleras. There is many choice in here. The pastas and bruschettas are delicious. You will also find good sandwiches here for lunch.

You’ll find the best curry of Medellin at Masala. This Indian restaurant is located on the road of Calle #10. You have to order the curry, rice and naan separate. This deliciously spiced dishes make your day great!

Betty’s Bowls is our number 1 in Medellín! We enjoyed a nice breakfast every day as it was part of our hostel. We were very lucky. At Betty’s Bowls you can get delicious smoothie bowls or a healthy sandwich. A smoothie bowl with a cappuccino at Betty’s Bowls will make your day!
Romero Cocina
Looking for Italian perfection? Go for Romero. This cosy Restaurant is directly visible from the road. Located at the beginning of Calle #10 near Yolo & Selina hostel. A tip: Go for the truffle risotto and order a delicious wine.
Bao Bei
The best wokkies and steamed buns you’ll find at Bao Bei. This Restaurant is located on a side street of Calle #10. Are you going for the noodles or for a sandwich pulled pork? It’s all delicious here! People take their dishes outside because it’s very busy every night.
