Wow. This was the only thing I could say during my first introduction to Mahmya Island. A visit to this paradise should definitely be on your list during your vacation in Egypt. I would like to share my experience with this island. Warning! After reading this blog you want to go here immediately.
MAHMYA
A relaxing day on a Bounty island? That is also one of the many possibilities of Egypt.
From various resorts, a visit to Mahmya Island is offered as an 8-hour day excursion.
This island is surrounded by a beautiful coral reef. Large boats leave for the island early in the morning. It is about an hour by boat. Once arrived Mahmya, you will be transferred to a smaller boat to protect the coral and you will be dropped off on the white sandy beach. Mahmya is a small island and set up purely for the tourists. That does not alter the fact that it is a beautiful island, where you can become completely ‘zen’.
SNORKELING
Snorkeling trips are organized from the island where you can splash into the water at 5 stops from the boat and admire the beautiful underwater world. This is often included with the booked excursion, but this depends on the organization. Bring your own towel and an underwater camera!
You can also relax and enjoy a delicious lunch buffet in the restaurant on the island.
