Sibenik has 24 churches and 6 monasteries. The jewel of this selection is the St. James cathedral. This is a real star among the older colored houses. This cathedral is unique because of the stone with which it was built. No other building has been built with these stones. The heads and figures are beautifully carved.

As far as we are concerned, it is certainly advisable to visit Krka National Park a whole day. The park is 111 m2 and offers various walking routes, but you can also swim in some places.

A common phenomenon in Krka National Park is travertine. This is a stone that is formed by the precipitation of lime at hot springs. The park is also unique thanks to the many species of flora and fauna. 1022 species have been discovered today. The park owes this to the good position of different types of habitats along the Krkra river. Amphibians and reptiles live in the lakes, wetlands and on the rocks. There are many fish species in the river. In the spring the krka river is important for the migration of the birds. Many species are discovered here and is therefore one of the most important areas of Europe for research.
The park is also rich in cultural and historical monuments. There are many remains from prehistory. For example the aqueduct, a Roman military camp of the Romans and the ruins of the medieval Croatian forts from the 14th century. The most famous and photographed spot are the Skradinski Buk waterfalls. An oasis of green, rock formations and clear water. This waterfall is the highlight of the park and can not to be missed. You can also swim here in the summer season.
In the Krka river is a small island called Visovac. Here is the Visovac monastery, which dates from the 14th century. You can visit this monastery.
